The photos here show a lesson on the cross-country schooling field at Wybar.
Instructors Judi Blymyer and Marina Murray are working with their students, teaching both horses and their riders how to ride a drop jump, beginning with a small drop, learning how to walk and trot it.
Pony Club is open to youths up to the age of twenty-one and trains according to a well-established international criteria, the members being tested as they progress through the levels, the higher ones providing credentials sought by the horse industry in adult employment, some Pony Clubbers going on to compete at the international level and in the Olympics, others using their skills running commercial barns and involved in the breeding industry and other aspects of the horse world. All benefit from the maturing process of their partnership with a horse within the Pony Club system and carry the pleasure of riding into their adult lives.
