Patricia McGuckin Stuart, who once supported her horses as a foreign affairs specialist, grew up in Wyoming's Cody Country running barrels and riding in the night rodeo. Thanks to graduate school and the Potomac Horse Center in Potomac, Maryland, she became a dressage enthusiast and one of the founding members of the Potomac Valley Dressage Association. Graduating from the BHS-based Horsemasters program, she went on to ride and school in Europe and Africa before returning to the United States in the early 1990's and developing the family-owned property on Heart Mountain into Wybar Farm. While now retiring from horse breeding and boarding, she continues her interest in horses.
She also pursues a writing career, authoring poetry and published short stories in anthologies such as SPIES LIVES, HARD GROUND, DENSE GROWTH, and FOREIGN GROUND. A creative nonfiction piece on a Wyoming wilderness advocate was published as AHEAD OF THEIR TIME. For samples of these and other works, CLICK HERE.
Pat has one daughter, Robyn, an energy engineer living in New Delhi, India.
